Every year, August seems to whisper something I almost miss.

As women, we’re often the planners. We’re making appointments, organizing schedules, thinking ahead for our families, and making sure everyone else has what they need.
Somewhere in the middle of all that planning, it’s easy to forget ourselves. I’ve learned that one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves isn’t another free afternoon, it’s a peaceful beginning.
Before autumn arrives with all its wonderful busyness, take a few moments to prepare your own heart and home.

- Lighten a room.
- Bring fresh flowers inside.
- Choose a fragrance that makes your home feel welcoming.
- Sit with your coffee for five uninterrupted minutes.
These small moments may seem insignificant, but over time they become the quiet foundation that helps us move through busy seasons with a little more grace.
Perhaps preparing for autumn isn’t only about organizing closets or buying school supplies. Perhaps it’s also about creating a home that welcomes us back at the end of each busy day. That may be one of the most important preparations of all.
